Divisions – The London School Board was created by the Elementary Education Act The act provided that the "Metropolis" (that is the area of the Metropolitan Board of Works) should be divided into ten named divisions for the elections of members to the exact boundaries and numbers of members for each division were fixed by order of Education Department and approved by. Scope and content: Includes lists of district officers, teachers employed by the district, and orders drawn for salaries and other purposes. Also includes annual financial and statistical reports for the school district (including a population census and statistical information concerning the pupils and certification for teachers), School Board meeting minutes, copies of memoranda, and notes.
